good morning, and welcome to mornings on 2 it's sunday, november 4th i'm mike mibach. >> and i'm claudine wong. let's check in on your weather with rosemary orozco. it's warming up? >> yeah addition fall warming in the forecast for today. we fell back in the overnight hours because of it the sun is already shining. we're looking at anywhere from 4-8 degrees of warming for your afternoon today. you can see 4-5 for santa rosa, san francisco, livermore as well as san jose. i'll break down these number for you and talk about the patchy fog and cool conditions outside your door at this hour coming up. new this morning employees of railey's knob hills foods are on strike for the first time in the company's 77 year history. workers hit the picket line an hour ago. >> reporter: this knob hill store opened at 6:00 a.m. just as scheduled. if we take a peek inside here it looks pretty empty.

there is only one person working all the cash registers. and that is because just about everyone else who works in this store, clerks, cashiers, produce workers, butchers they are on this picket line. workers with the united food and commerci workers union formed this picket line at 6:00 a.m. after negotiations between knob hill, railey's owners went beyond a sticking point. it isn't over pay but health benefits. the company wants to take away current and future retiree health benefits and one loyal 89-year-old customer who pulled up this morning and didn't cross the picket line because he was on strike he tells us he sympathizes with these workser. >> i read about it but i didn't expect to see my friends out here this morning. >> reporter: will you shop here while they are on strike? >> no. because what they just told me what it is. it isn't wages it's benefits.

health benefits. and these companies don't like to pay for that. >> reporter: now there are total of 24 rally's and knob hill stores in the bay area. 104 other stores throughout northern california and nevada. all their workers are on strike. there is no word how long the strike will go on for. the remittives out here say that the negotiations between the company and the union are continuing so there is some hope and optimism this might reach a resolution soon. allie rasmus ktvu channel 2 news. overnight a pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries after a hit and run in santa rosa. that collision happened near the intersection of againville road and coffee lane. after the crash we found that suspect vehicle with its windshield shattered. witness tips led to the arrest of christian pena. he faces charges. a felony hit and run, driving under the influence, violating probation, and he has a prior dui conviction. the victim was rushed to the

hospital with minor injuries. there was another hit and run. a driver slammed into another car at hone avenue and farmers learn around 12:45 this morning. the victim was not injured anoas was able to describe the suspects car to police. police tracked down 52-year-old jimmy hawaii men these to highway 12. he was booked on charges ever o evading -- charges on evading and driving under the influence. we have a severe traffic alert to tell you about. a car overturned on southbound 880 at 980. the center lane is currently blocked and drivers are being advised to avoid this area. or expect delays. chp does not have an estimate on when the lane will be back open. investigators in atlanta are trying to figure out what caused a helicopter to crash killing two police officers. it happened late last night while police were searching for missing nine-year-old just moments into that search, witnesses say that the helicopter went down in a busy

intersection. police say no one on the ground was hurt and that the officers died at the scene. >> we just solicit the prayers of the citizens of our city for the officers that are presently with us and the families of the two lost officers. >> this morning police investigate investigators will be at the scene working to determine why that chopper went down. more local volunteers are heading to the east coast to help the victims of super storm sandy. american red cross chapters are sending another three emergency response vehicles. those are capable of serving up to 3,000 meals a day to new yorkers. the first group left from fairfield at 6:00 this morning. the or two groups will leave this afternoon from oakland and burlingame. so far more than 100 bay area red cross volunteers and five emergency response vehicles have been sent to the east coast. the red cross served more than 275,000 meals and snack in both new york and new jersey opinion

on friday night nearly 13,000 people in nine states stayed in shelters. the red cross is looking for money and blood donations to help those impacted by the storms. falling temperatures are raising concerns as crews continue to try to restore power to the east coast following super storm sandy. almost a million people still without power this morning in the new york city area where overnight temperatures fell to the 30s. new york city mayor michael bloomberg is urging those without power to go to a shelter. city officials are handing out 25,000 blankets to those who refuse to leave their homes. >> i have no power. no generator but my house is intact. i won't have power for a week or so. >> most schools in new york city are scheduled to reopen tomorrow. a week after the storm hit. many students have trouble getting to school due to the shortage of gas and disruption to public transportation. janetny pal ton know -- janet napolitano is scheduled to visit new jersey.

gas is rationing in that state. the storm is being blamed for 23 deaths in new jersey and 107 deaths nation-wide. there are no signs this morning of a man who disappeared from a peninsula mental health facility. 67-year-old kenneth morrison was reported seen at second street. he is described as 5'7", 220 pounds with gray hair and a beard. a richmond firefighter is recovering this morning after suffering a back injury while battling a fire. it happened late last night on mcdonald avenue. investigators say four storage units caught fire behind a barbershop and meeting hall. when fire crews arrived they said the building was engulfed into flames. fire officials in san rafael say they believe an apartment fire may have been sparked by barbecue coals left on a deck. that fire started around 9:40

yesterday morning at an apartment building on canal street. no one was hurt. firefighters say the apartment where the fire started had a smoke detector but there was no battery inside. the city of pleasanton will honor war veterans today. the parade starts at 1:00 this afternoon. military and veteran color guards and marching bands will be part of that parade. veterans day is next sunday. the parade is being held a week early so veterans can join in all their celebrations next weekend. right now thousands of runners are taking part in a half marathon on the golden gate bridge. the event benefiting st. jude's children's hospital. started at 7:00 a.m.. runners will follow a route across chrissy field. the pedestrian walkways on the bridge will be closed until 9:30 this morning due to the race. drivers should also expect detours and road closures in the presidio. good morning, to you.

governor jerry brown making a last push for proposition 30. he's been traveling up and down the state urging californians to approve the tax measure. he will visit four churches in los angeles this morning and took part in two rallies yesterday. prop 30 would raise the state sales tax on californians earning $250,000 or more. republicans say the money would go to the general fund rather than directly to schools. brown will receive some help today from gavin newsom. they hope to energize local educators mobilizing this weekend to get out the vote. it appears many local voters will wait until the final hours before sending back in their mail in ballots. according to the san francisco examiner san francisco issued more than 250,000 mail in ballots but the election office only received 193,000. turnout in the 2008

presidential election reached 81% a high that was attributed to mr. obama's popularity. tuesday is a critical vote in san francisco. five supervisors are up for reelection. and they are spending the weekend going door to door. two of the tightest races involve seats for the richmond district and hate ash berry. christina oh laogai has been criticized for her vote to retain ross mirkarimi as sheriff. transportation quality it's a big issue in alameda county this election week. measure b1 proposes to raise the half cent sales tax to a full cent. it would generate $8 billion over the next three decades. money would pay for projects including improving ac transit and bart operations, widening freeways, and adding bike and pedestrian pathways. they fear the benefits wouldn't be enough. it would increase to 9.25% in most alameda county cities. one of the highest in the

after days of negotiations talks between raleys and union workers have beaken down and several thousand people are on strike. welcome back to mornings on 2 i'm claudine wong. >> and i'm mike mibach. the announcement came just a few hours ago. allie rasmus is live at knob hill foods where they started picketing 90 minutes ago. >> reporter: that is right. this knob hill store they are picketing in front of opened up at 6:00 where they usually does. looking in the door there is not many people inside. there is only one cash register open that is because a lot of

the usual cashier,s, clerks, butchers went on strike. the strike started at midnight last night and they are out here on the picket line this morning. a union representative here says talks between the company and the union broke down at 3:00 this morning. and the major sticking point according to the union is it cuts to health care. the grocery chain wants to eliminate health care coverage from employees who are eligible for medicare. >> being young i'm covered by my parents but i really support my coworkers who actually do need it. and for the retirees that do need it. i was talking to a customer yesterday and said i fully support you guys because she needs it to live. >> reporter: now there are a total of 24nob hill and rail lee stores. they are all on strike today. and i spoke briefly with a representative for nob hill and

raley's. the company has plans in place to keep all their stores open and operating. so there is no telling how long this strike will go. now i have to say since the store opened we have seen customers walk up to this door and talk to to the union members and learn abouts strike and turn around and leave in support of what they are doing here. live in walnut creek i'm allie rasmus. medical staff at two sonoma county hospitals are on strike. the three-day nurses walkout began yesterday. engineers also walked off the job there as well as at petaluma valley hospital. this video shows the nurses strike last october. union workers are angry over proposed cuts to on call and night shift pay. administrators say they need to trim costs to pay for new technology and prepare for implementing the affordable care act in 2014. frustrations are rising in

new york where almost a million people are still without power. amid freezing temperatures. volunteers set up shelters in the rock aways and queens where residents have no power or heat an they contributed to blankets who just don't want to leave their homes. new york city michael bloomberg has blasted the power company for not doing enough to get the power back on. >> they have not acted aggressively enough. we know they have outages throughout long island but rockaway was hit the hardest. >> it could take up to two weeks for power to be restored in the rock aways. no, city marathon was supposed to be run today up until michael bloomberg canceled it on friday so they could focus on storm recovery. coming up -- new york city and surrounding counties will receive funds from fema to help prepare roads, public buildings

and parts. it has approved the money for new york city, nassau anusol polling counties. they also say 122,000 people have registered disaster assistance. more than $170 million in aid has been approved so far. a mobile app called hurricane from the red cross is hurricaning with the response to the storm. storm victims who have access to a charged mobile device can receive locations and directions of red cross shelters in their area. it also offers checklist on preparing for a hurricane. information on evacuation plans and specific communities and location based alerts on the direction of storms. new jersey governor chris christie says people that live in areas devastated by sandy will be able to cast a ballot on election day. they will be able to cast a paper ballot even if their

polling stations does not have power. they are also encouraging voters to vote early. >> you don't have to wait to vote. got a little time on your hands. tired of cleaning stuff up go there in person you will get a ballot you will vote, hand it in and you're done. >> voters unable to get to their polling place due to the storm will be allowed to e-mail or fax in their ballots. two more days before the presidential election barack obama and mitt romney are feverishly campaigning across the country. >> you are tired of being tired, i ask you to vote for real change. paul ryan and i will bring real change to america from day one. [ cheering and applause ] >> with his wife at his side, romney told the crowd in colorado last night that he can work with democrats in congress to approve the economy and avoid another government shut down. other analysts say romney believes he is close to victory and been trying to sound more bipartisan in recent days.

romney's running mate paul ryan is also crisscrossing the country. supporters waved scores of american flags during his stop in panama city, florida. at this time tomorrow morning he will fly to reno for a rally at the reno tahoe airport. one new poll shows president obama with a 50-48 age against romney. president obama is also in the midst of a campaign blitz. >> as long as there is a child anywhere in virginia, anywhere in this country who is still languishing in poverty and barred from opportunity, our work is not yet done. we have more work to do. >> the president spent last fight at a campaign stop in virginia with former president bill clinton as well as the dave matthews band. today the president will visit at least four states new hampshire, florida, colorado, and ohio. pop star katy perry was

sporting a president obama campaign slogan. perry initially came out wearing a red, white, and blue dress holding a microphone shaped like the status of liberty's torch. after she sang her first song she revealed her other dress which had the slogan forward on it. perry also paused to make a pitch for donations for victims of super storm sandy. californians are hoping to gather support for candidates in the presidential election from voters in other states. volunteers have been calling voters in such swing states as ohio and iowa this weekend. some campaign workers called 300 people out of state. there are fewer volunteers at the contra costa county republican office believe romney has the momentum and will win. >> four years ago the enthusiasm was on the democrat side. this year the enthusiasm is on the republican side. and that is going to carry states like ohio, and iowa, and colorado. >> if you believe the polls is that the horse race is close in

addition--- nation-wide. but again we don't know until it's over. >> a new poll shows president obama with a 54-39% lead in california. we posted more information about next tuesday's vote just go to ktvu.com click on the 2012 election tab. oakland police are investigating a shooting overnight in the fruitvale district that injured one person. it happened around 1:30 this morning at 28th avenue and east 17th street. officers say the victim was smoking a cigarette outside an apartment complex when someone fired a goes rounds. the victim was hit three times and transported to the hospital. police say they do not have the gunman in custody. a south bay woman is in grief for her son who is the latest homicide victim in san jose. at least 50 people turned out for a candle light vigil to remember robert agulto. he left behind a one and three-

year-old child. >> i heard that he was fighting with somebody and that person pulled out the gun and shot him in the head. >> police have not arrested anyone but they say that they have witnesses in the case. it was the 47th homicide in the year. jury deliberations resume tomorrow in connection to a south bay teacher misconduct case. len was the former principal atway lee elementary. she is accused of failing to report alleged sexual abuse by one of her teachers. on thursday she tearfully testified she was duped by teacher greg chandler. she faces up to six months in jail. chandler is currently in jail on five counts of molestation. tomorrow marks a milestone in the construction of the new 49ers stadium in santa clara. a 35,000 piece of precapped

parking lot when a small truck hit and killed them. the driver claims he did not see the man. they say the driver is cooperating with the investigation. concord police say they have arrested a driver accused of hitting and killing a 78- year-old pedestrian. police say the 41-year-old driver was on clayton road when he hit the man in a crosswalk yesterday morning. the unidentified victim was taken to the hospital where he later died. police say the driver's vision may have been obscured by the sun and condensation on the windshield. new this morning an explosion near major hotel in syria. a car bomb blew up and damaged a section of the hotel. u.n. observers occupied many of the room there is during their mission in syria earlier this year. it's believed the bomber was targeting a military building. at least 12 government personnel were injured. opposition forces are meeting to forge a united front against the syrian regime. u.s. may be inching closer to finding those responsible

for the attack on the american consulate in libya. it killed four americans including ambassador christopher stevens. in the coming days the fbi says it will interrogate a suspect tied to that attack. the u.s. asked turkey to detain -- he was then transferred to tanisha where he is being held. the american soldier accused of a quilling rampage is set to appear in a military court. he is charged with killing 16 afghans. mostly women and children. last march now tomorrow is a pretrial hearing at a military base in washington state. the second weak of hearing take places in the evening. so afghan villagers can testify. though they plan to flee to afghanistan. the commander and top officers of a san diego based navy have been relieved of

changes to current and retiree employee health plans. according to the union the grocery chain wants to eliminate health care coverage to workers that are eligible to medicare and that is something that nob hill spokespersons dispute. at 6:00 this morning workers formed picket line. you can see some customers are crossing that picket line if you look inside the store you can see a couple security guards and there is just two cash registers open. a lot of them are on strike. the people on strike today include cashiers, clerks, people who work in the produce and meat and bakery departments. contract negotiations between the united food and commercial workers union and grocery chain broke down at 3:00 this morning. union workers here are telling customers that they are striking to protect their health care benefits. >> i'm 89 years old. and i need health stuff too.

that could kick me off the company trying to kick it away. i know it's expensive. but hey. this is america. i a spoke with railey's company spoke man on the phone he said the grocery chain has to reduce operating cost. and he also says that the company in the companies last offer there are no proposed changes to health care. and the union rep disputes that is simply not the case. now there is no telling how long the strike will go on for. again these negotiations broke down at 3:00 this morning. live in walnut creek allie rasmus ktvu channel 2 news.

happening right now more bay area volunteers are heading to the east coast to help victims of the storm. they are sending another three emergency response vehicles. those are capable of serving up to 3,000 meals a day. the first group left from fairfield at 6:00 this morning. the other two groups will leave this afternoon from oakland and burlingame. so for more than 100 bay area red cross volunteers and five emergency response volunteers have been sent to the east coast. and on friday night nearly 13,000 people in nine states stayed in shelters. red cross is now asking for money and blood donations to help those effected by the storm. falling temperatures are raising concerns as the crews continue to try to restore power to the east coast following super storm sandy. almost a million customers are still without power in the new york city area where overnight temperatures fell into the 30s.

new york city mayor michael bloomberg is urging those without power to go to a shelter. city officials are also handing out 25,000 blankets to those who refuse to leave their homes. >> i don't have power. no generator. but my house is intact. i'm not going to have power for a week or so. >> most schools in the new york city area are scheduled to reopen tomorrow. a week after the storm hit. but many students may have trouble getting to school due to shortages of gas and disruptions to public transportation. homeland security secretary janet napolitano is scheduled to visit new jersey where a million customers are still without power. gas is being rationed in 12 counties in the northern part of the state. causing long lines at the gas stations. storm is blamed for 23 deaths in new jersey and 107 deaths nation-wide. overnight a pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries after a hit and run in

santa rosa. that collision happened near the intersection of gernville road and coffee lane. after the crash they found the suspects vehicle with its windshield shattered. then witness tips led to the arrest of christian pena. he faces charges of felony hit and run, driving under the influence, and violating probation. he also has a prior dui conviction. the pedestrian was rushed to santa rosa memorial hospital where massive injuries. 4.5-miles from that incident there was another hit and run. a driver slammed into another car at hone avenue. the victim wasn't injured and able to describe the suspects car to police. they were able to track down 52- year-old jimmy himnez to highway 12. it all ended after he hit a guardrail and he was booked on charges of evading and driving under the influence. there are still no signs this morning of man that disappeared from a peninsula

mental health facility. he was last seen at second and b streets after leaving the mental health center near redwood city. he's described as 5'7", 220 pounds with gray hair and a beard. ive monday fire fight sir recovering after suffering a back injury while battling' fire. four storage units caught fire. when fire crews arrived the building was engulfed in flames. several people were evacuated from the building. the firefighter injured was take ton the hospital and expected to -- taken to the hospital and expected to be okay. they believe an apartment fire may have been sparked by barbecue coals left on a deck. that started around 9:40 yesterday morning. no onerous hurt. the apartment where that fire started did have a smoke detector but there wasn't a battery inside. in election 2012 news governor jerry brown is making

a last push for proposition 30. he has been traveling up and down the state urging californians to approve the tax measure. he will visit four churches in los angeles this morning and took part in two rallies yesterday. proposition 30 would raise the state sales tax and income tax on californians earning a quarter million dollars or more while brown says revenue generated would fund education. some opponents say the money would go to the general fund rather than directly to schools. brown would receive help today from lieutenant governor gavin newsom. they hope to energize local educators mobilizing this weekend to get out the vote. it appear miss local votes -- it appears many local voters will wait until the final ballot to mail their ballot. the election office received only 93,000 as of friday.

went down in a busy intersection. police say no one on the ground was hurt but the officers died at the scene. >> we just solicit the prayers of our citizens of our city for these officers that are presently with us and the families of the two lost officers. >> this morning police investigators and federal aviation officials will be out that scene trying to figure out why that chopper went down. a 30-year-old man is in jail suspected in a fatal shooting at a sacramento party. he shot and killed a man and injured an 18-year-old early yesterday morning. witnesses said the two victims were shot outside of an apartment complex during a fight after they asked someone to leave a party. an angel sculpture in petaluma has been rededicated to a slain 12-year-old girl. a ceremony was held at city hall yesterday. the group of volunteers created the sculpture after georgia lee moses was killed back in 2007.

construction work near the freeway prompted volunteers to relocate the sculpture to city hall. georgia moses' killing remains unsolved. the parents of a sebastopol teenager who died in peru says an autopsy has not resolved their questions about his death. the body of 18-year-old kyle nolan was found in a shallow grave at a retreat site several weeks after he died in august. a peruvian shaman said he died after drinking hallucinogenic tea. an autopsy recently conducted in sonoma county was inconclusive. results from tests done in peru are still pending. 900 people packed hp pavilion to remember a cal chief firefighter who died on the job. cal fire says he died last saturday of natural causes of losing consciousness during an investigation in santa cruz

county. he leaves behind a wife and two sons. tomorrow the federal appeals court in san francisco will consider repealing arizona's ban on most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. arizona is among ten states with abortion bans after 20 weeks but arizona is the only state to calculate the pregnancy from the woman's last menstrual period instead of the date of conception. the case hinges on how far states can go in terms of restricting abortions. the investigation into a hacking scandal at british tabloids may now include british prime minister david cameron. he's asked a media ethics inquiry to look at text messages sent between cameron and rebecca brooks. brooks is the former chief executive. cameron and brooks are said to be friends and neighbors. back in the bay area transportation quality is a major election issue in alameda

accident in santa rosa that critically injured a pedestrian is in jail this morning. it happened around 12:30 this morning. the driver now faces hit and run and dui charges. employees of raley's and nob hill foods are on strike for the first time in the companies 77 year history. allie rasmus is live there where employees have already hit the picket line. >> reporter: this store behind me opened up at 6:00 a.m. as scheduled. the company spokesman said all of their stores will remain in operation taking normal business hours inspite of the strike. but we took a peek inside. there are customers inside, there aren't many employees working here. there is only one cash register open here. that is because most of the people who would typically work here are out here on the picket line out in front. we're talking about cashiers, clerks, butchers, people who work in the bakery department. they all went on strike at midnight last night. they're in the parking lot.

we have seen them talk to the customers as they head in and explain to them they are striking this morning. a union representative says talks between the company and union broke down at 3:00 this morning. and the main sticking point in those negotiations according to the union are cuts to health care. representatives from the united food and commercial workers union says the grocery chain wants to eliminate health care coverage for employees that are eligible for medicare. we talked to some of the worker this is this morning to ask them what is on their mind as they begin this strike in >> i kind of have mixed emotions about it. this is the first strike i've been on. it's a scary thing. >> being young, i'm covered by my parents, but i really support my coworkers who actually do need it. and for the retirees who do need it. i was talking to a customer yesterday and she said i fully support you guys. >> reporter: she was talking about the health care benefits

that are at issue in this strike. there were 24 raley's and nob hill stores in the bay area. i spoke with a raley's specksman over the phone. he said they have to reduce operating cost to stay competitive with nonunion retailers. in the company's last offer there were no proposed changes to the health care plan. but out here this morning, workers are out on the picket line and in fact, there are some employees here from other grocery stores they are aren't on strike but they are out here to supporten the gentleman said he came off the night shift at safeway and are here to support. what made you decide to be out here this morning? >> they came in and asked me for support. i said okay. i'll come down and i will help show some support. and just because their cause is our cause and we're all fighting for the same thing. >> reporter: thank you very much. as you heard it, the strike is

going on today. no telling how long it will last for because the negotiations did break down overnight between nob hill raley's companies spokesperson and managers and some of the union representatives. live in walnut creek allie rasmus. three-day wacout of nurses began yesterday at santa rosa memorial. engineers also walked off the job there as as well as at petaluma valley hospital. this video shows the nurses last strike in october. union workers say they are angry over proposed cuts to on call and night shift pay. administrators say they need to trim cost to pay for new technology frustrations are rising in new york where almost a million people are without power amid freezing temperatures. volunteers set up shelters in the rockways and queens where rose lents are without power

and heat. they had on blankets because some people are refusing to leave their homes. michael bloomberg has blasted that area power company for not doing enough to get the power on quickly. >> and our view lipa has not acted aggressively enough. we realize they have outages throughout long island but the rockaways were the hardest hit by the storm. when it comes to prioritizing resources, we think they should be first in line. >> it could take up to two weeks for power to be restored in the rockaways. new york city and surrounding counties will receive funds from fema to help repair roads, public buildings, and parks. they have approved the money for new york city, nassau, and suffolk counties. also 122,000 people have religion stereotyped for disas -- registered for disaster assistance. a mobile app called hurricane

that say in the final democratic registration jerry brown may pull this out. he is giving it his best go. >> we have to move on to the presidential election. there is so much to talk about with that. let's talk about president obama. he saw him over in miles an hour. he's going to florida, ohio, colorado. he's had bill clinton out there, katy perry. >> jz. >> yes. everyone. so how do you obama camp is feeling right now? you got to talk about this popular vote. >> that is right. they've got to be feeling a little bit good. you know. look, it's not over until it's over. but the fact is in 22 swing state polls since friday, president obama has led 19 of those. that is a very big deal. the democrats say they have early voting and they have that get out to vote on the ground in all these states. they have stronger campaign going in romney.

however, the republicans are not by any chance giving up. they say they have the enthusiasm and when it comes to election day, they will deliver the popular votes. it is a struggle for romney i think when you talk about ohio, john stewart just called this very critical swing state the precious in the lord of the rings for these two candidates. they have been all over ohio. obama is leading in ohio. that is very, very important. but i mean this could be a long election night on tuesday claudine. we have no idea how it's going to turn out and the republicans may deliver in those final hours. they have the enthusiasm going into the final day. >> it's all still a little strange when you talk about the polls. talk about pennsylvania in general. i mean they are saying the obama camp it's a desperate ploy that mitt romney is heading there. romney's people are saying no that is turtle ground. >> it's a similar situations going on in iowa where romney is going. obama is leading in that state as well. look, both of these campaigns

are in a death battle going to the final days. after two years it's still a dead heat. the latest poll northerlily shows 48-48 washington post poll. so neither side is giving up and we'll see in the end who's strategy really delivers on election night. will it be obama with that early vote and women latinos? will it be republicans with that enthusiasm they have for romney? it is a drama that has yet to be be unfolded. >> really quickly. we have to talk about super storm sandy. certainly there are things we don't expect. how will that play into it? >> absolutely. sandy i think stalled the momentum that romney had and then you had chris christie, michael bloomberg coming out and supporting obama. i think there is no question it had an impact in the final days. but the fact is, there is still two days left. now you have some of the victims of sandy coming forward

still upset, say they have not been dealt with yet. things could still happen going into the final two days of this election. that is how traumatic this whole thing has been. >> it is a very dramatic election. thank you for your time. we appreciate it. >> thank you. police in san jose trying to figure out what happened moments before a man was hit and killed by a truck three blocks away from hp pavilion. it happened just before 3:00 yesterday afternoon. police say the man was walking near a parking lot when a small struck and hit and killed him. the driver claims they did not see the man. concord police say they have arrested a driver accused of hitting and killing a 78-year- old pedestrian. the 41-year-old driver was on clayton road when he hit the man in a crosswalk. he was transported to the

hospital where later died. police in stockton investigating the city's 62nd homicide of the year. a man with a gunshot wound to the head was found in a home friday. police found the body after a person dressed in black went into a restaurant and handed an employee a note with the location of the body. this is just the latest homicide investigation for the stockton police department. the body of a 25-year-old stockton woman was found in a trash can in pleasanton back in may. her exboyfriend is now facing murder charges in connection with her death. the national hockey league and the players association plan to meet again this coming week after hours of talks this weekend. the deputy commissioner and players association lawyer met yesterday at a secret location and their talks continued early this morning. players have been locked out for 50 days and all games through the end of this month
